Ilumichey Sadam (Sadam in Chettinad Style)

Chettinad rice dishes

Ingredients for Ilumichey Sadam:

1. Gingelly oil – 50 milli

2. Mustard – 1 small spoon

3. Urud dal (black gram dal) – 1 small spoon

    Bengal gram fried – 1 small spoon

    Green chillies – 2

    Curry leaves – 1 small spoon

4. Lemon juice – 15 milli

    Turmeric powder – 1 small spoon

    Salt – For taste

5. Basmati rice – 100 gm, cooked

How to prepare Ilumichey Sadam?

1. Heat oil and sputter mustard seeds.

2. Add ingredients no: 3 and sauté for a while.

3. When urud dal turns golden brown, add ingredients no: 4.

4. Mix it well and when it heats up, add cooked basmati rice.

5. Mix the rice well with other ingredients and put off the flame.

6. Serve hot.
