Chakkakuru Podimas (Jackfruit Seed Podimas)

Ingredients for Chakkakuru Podimas (Jackfruit Seed Podimas):

1. Well-ripened jackfruit seed – 15

    Salt and turmeric – As needed

2. Coconut oil – ¼ cup

    Asafoetida powder – ¼ tsp

3. Mustard – ½ tsp

    Black gram dal – 1 tsp

4. Onions chopped fine – ¼ cup

    Ginger chopped fine – ½ tsp

    Green chillies chopped into thin round pieces – 2 dessert spoons

    Curry leaves – 2 stalks

5. Coconut scrapped – ½ cup

How to prepare Chakkakuru Podimas (Jackfruit Seed Podimas)?

1. Remove skin of jackfruit seeds.

2. Cook them adding water, salt and turmeric.

3. Smash it once jackfruit seeds are cooked (never overcook it).

4. Heat a pan in low flame and add coconut oil.

5. Add asafoetida powder and fry it, followed by mustard and urud dal.

6. Sauté ingredients no: 4.

7. Add jackfruit seeds smashed, and gently mix it.

8. Just before putting off the flame, add coconut. Never overcook it.
