Karan Aujla – Canada based Indian rapper

Karan Aujla is an Indian rapper, pop artist and songwriter based in Canada. Shit Talk, Up & Down, Alcohol 2, Yaarian Ch Fikk, Lafaafe, Don’t Look etc are some of his popular songs. He released his first song – Cell Phone in 2014 ad wrote his first song Range for Jassi Gill the same year. It was Jassi Gill who spotted his talent and later pursued and promoted him to join music field. Apart from singing, he also writes songs for other artists, and often collaborates with other international artists for independent music.

Karan Aujla is a native of Ghurala, Punjab. His real name is Jaskaran Singh Aujla. He lost both his parents at the age of 9, and was later brought up by his sister and paternal uncle. He became an introvert after the death of his parents and started writing songs only as a hobby. But he never thought of taking it as a profession. However noted singer Jassi Gill happened to hear him performing at a marriage function when he was only 14, and later he acted as Karan’s mentor. Karan offered Jassie his lyrics and the song ‘Range’ became a hit. Very soon he moved to Canada.

Same year he debut as a singer through the single – Cell Phone. The song went unnoticed and he got demotivated. However music director Deep Jandu encouraged him and later he established in the field of music. He engaged with his girlfriend Palak in Canada in 2019 at the age of 21.

1. His single – “Don’t Look” was featured in BBC Asian Music Chart for more than 12 weeks.

2. In 2019, there were rumours that he was attacked in Surrey, which the singer declined.

3. He has made tattoo of his mother’s face on his right arm, and his father’s on his left arm.
