Jack fruit Erisseri (Chakka Erisseri)

Ingredients for Jack fruit Erisseri (Chakka Erisseri):

1. Jack fruit flesh (not ripen) chopped – 2 cups

    Jack fruit seed chopped – 1 cup

    Other parts of unripe jack fruit – 1 cup (together)

    Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

2. Water – 2 cups

3. Salt – For taste

4. Coconut scrapped – 1 cup

5. Green chillies – 2

    Shallots – 3

    Garlic – 2 cloves

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

6. Curry leaves – As needed

7. Coconut oil – 2.5 big spoons

8. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Red chillies – 2, broken into 2 or 3 pieces

    Curry leaves – A little

    Coconut scrapped – 1 cup

How to prepare Jack fruit Erisseri (Chakka Erisseri)?

1. Cook ingredients no: 1 adding water.

2. Add salt, mix well and place aside.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 5.

4. Add the gravy to jack fruit, mix well and allow the contents to boil.

5. Add curry leaves and take off the flame.

6. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 8 till they turn red colour.

7. Add it to curry, mix well and use.
