What all can be made with semiya! Payasam, upma, pulao… all the usual dishes. But now, let’s learn how to make dosa with it too. It takes only 20 minutes! A unique breakfast that both kids and adults will love. The best combination to serve with it is chutney—either tomato chutney or spicy chutney made with red chillies, shallots, and tamarind for an irresistible taste.

Semiya Dosa recipe

Ingredients for Instant Semiya Dosa:

1. Rice flour – 1 cup 

2. Semiya (vermicelli) – ½ cup 

3. Rava (semolina) – ¼ cup 

4. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp, crushed 

5. Salt – As needed 

6. Water – 5 cups 

7. Carrot, grated – 2 tbsp 

8. Onion, finely chopped – 2 tbsp 

9. Coriander leaves, finely chopped – 1 tbsp 

10. Curry leaves, finely chopped – As needed 

How to prepare Instant Semiya Dosa?

1. Dry roast semiya in a pan until it turns light brown. 

2. Transfer the roasted semiya to a bowl and mix with rice flour, rava, salt, and cumin seeds. 

3. Add water and prepare a batter. The consistency should be pourable, not too thick. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes. 

4. After resting, add grated carrot, chopped onion, coriander leaves, and curry leaves to the batter and mix well. 

5. Heat a pan and pour the batter to make dosas. Cook until done.
