Harish Khanna is an acclaimed theatre artist and stage actor who plays character roles on the Hindi big screen. He has also acted in a few Malayalam films, independent films and web series. He mostly prefers to work with award-winning and acclaimed filmmakers, such as Govind Nihalani, Milan Luthria, Shoojit Sircar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, etc., to mention a few. He has been a part of several acclaimed Hindi films such as Tumbbad, Sochariya, Midnight’s Children, 7 Khoon Maaf, Kaminey, Yahaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, Haraamkhor, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, etc. His role in 2019 web series, Typewriter, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, got noticed. He is an alumnus of the prestigious National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Harish Khanna was born in Kota, Rajasthan. His family originally hailed from Lahore, and they lived in Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, etc., where he completed his education. His family was finally settled in Jammu after living in different places. In fact, after graduating from NSD in 1993, he began his career as a theatre artist with Natrang in Jammu & Kashmir. Apart from acting, he directed plays, conducted workshops and travelled across the globe. He also took advanced training from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London.
Harish Khanna marked his big screen debut in 1995, through the film, Memories of Fear, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Madhusree Dutta, and later worked with several acclaimed directors in the past 25 years. He played the lead role in the independent films, ‘Tathagat’, ‘12×12’, ‘Aisey Hee’ and ‘The colour of loss or blue’. He was featured in the documentary film, 7 Islands and a Metro, in 2006.
