Fruits for skin care

We spent a lot of money for doing facials and other special treatments. We do special fruit facials like papaya facial, orange facial etc to get a glow skin. Beauty parlours charge a good sum of money for doing such expensive facials. But do you know, beauty is not all about external skin glow. It’s all about glowing the skin from inside, which is more durable and stays so long.

If we follow a good lifestyle, keep yourself active and mobile, and eat a healthy and balanced diet, which includes a lot of water, fresh vegetables and fruits, we get a glowing skin naturally. It improves our health also, thus overall improving our positivity and happiness. Let us eat fruits and provide a healthy, glowing and hydrated skin, instead of relying on beauty products and treatments.

Fruits are rich in antioxidants also, which reduces wrinkles, and keeps aging at bay. Most importantly, they keep you hydrated, giving a glowing effect to skin. From the easily available fruits around, let’s choose some of the best fruits for our skin care. Here I am listing a few.

Papaya – Papaya is rich in beta carotene, which is excellent for skin glow and a healthy skin. Papain enzyme found in papaya gives a new life to your skin.

Different types of berries – Berries like blueberry, strawberry, cranberry etc are rich in antioxidants. They slow down the aging process and also provide various health benefits. Though berries are not easily available in our country and are little expensive comparing other fruits, their health benefits are commendable, comparing our medical bills.

Apples – They are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber which can help with acne, dark spots, and premature aging.

Watermelon – Though glycaemic index of watermelon is high comparing other fruits, they are less in calories and high in water content, which keep you hydrated. They are excellent during summer, instead of using cold drinks. It can improve the skin glow and provides you a hydrated skin. Watermelon seeds are also widely used nowadays as a health product.

Guavas – They contain vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients that may help protect your skin from damage and premature aging.

Orange and lemon – Citrus fruits like orange and lemon have Vitamin C in plenty. It enhances skin health, glow and also improve collagen production which slows down aging process. Orange is a good alternative for weight loss too.

Mango – Mango is the king of all fruits and is available in different taste and varieties. It has different price range too. Vitamin A and beta carotene present in mangoes give a new life to skin. It makes your skin glow and shine.

Avocado – Widely known for its health benefits, it contains vitamin E which safeguards skin health.

Grapes – Grapes are known for its antioxidant properties. Its benefits include reducing wrinkles, protecting against skin cancer, and treating acne. Grapes can also improve skin colour.

Pomegranate – Rich in iron and several vital nutrients, they help in reducing acne, hyperpigmentation, and dullness of skin. They can protect your skin from skin damage due to exposure of sunlight. They also contain antioxidants and vitamin C, and can improve collagen production, just helping with anti-aging process.

Banana – Banana and banana skin are used in beauty products like face packs. Eating banana regularly can reduce your stress levels, which overall improves your health and slows down aging process. They contain nutrients that hydrate, smooth, tighten and firm the skin.
