Fish Biryani

 
 

Ingredients for Fish Biryani:

  1. Neymeen (Queen fish) – 1/2 kg (10 pieces)
  2. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  3. Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  4. Salt – as needed
  5. Oil – Needed for frying
  6. Onion sliced – 4
  7. Crushed green chillies – 10
  8. Ginger crushed – 4 inch piece
  9. Garlic – 2 clusters
  10. Coriander leaves – 50 gm
  11. Coconut paste – 1/2 of a coconut
  12. Curd – 1 cup
  13. Kaima rice (Jeera rice) – 1/2 kg
  14. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  15. Ghee – 1 tsp

Method of preparation of Fish Biryani:

  1. Marinate fish pieces with salt, pepper and turmeric powder.
  2. Fry them and keep aside. Never fry too deep.
  3. In the remaining oil, saute onion, green chillies, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves.
  4. Add coconut paste and curd and saute again. 
  5. Add fish pieces and cook with some curry remaining. (Never dry it )
  6. Heat ghee and fry rice.
  7. Add double quantity water, add salt and half cook it. Drain water and keep aside.
  8. Spread half cooked rice in a plate and add some garama masala powder. Spread a few fish pieces on top.
  9. Again add a layer of rice and spread some fish. 
  10. Thus make a few layers of rice and fish curry.
  11. Bake in oven in 325 degree Fahrenheit.
