Fish Biryani
Ingredients for Fish Biryani:
- Neymeen (Queen fish) – 1/2 kg (10 pieces)
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Oil – Needed for frying
- Onion sliced – 4
- Crushed green chillies – 10
- Ginger crushed – 4 inch piece
- Garlic – 2 clusters
- Coriander leaves – 50 gm
- Coconut paste – 1/2 of a coconut
- Curd – 1 cup
- Kaima rice (Jeera rice) – 1/2 kg
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
Method of preparation of Fish Biryani:
- Marinate fish pieces with salt, pepper and turmeric powder.
- Fry them and keep aside. Never fry too deep.
- In the remaining oil, saute onion, green chillies, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves.
- Add coconut paste and curd and saute again.
- Add fish pieces and cook with some curry remaining. (Never dry it )
- Heat ghee and fry rice.
- Add double quantity water, add salt and half cook it. Drain water and keep aside.
- Spread half cooked rice in a plate and add some garama masala powder. Spread a few fish pieces on top.
- Again add a layer of rice and spread some fish.
- Thus make a few layers of rice and fish curry.
- Bake in oven in 325 degree Fahrenheit.
