Yam - Dates Pickle recipe

Ingredients for Yam – Dates Pickle:

  1. Yam – ½ kg
  2. Dates – 100 gm
  3. Vinegar – as needed
  4. Salt – as needed
  5. Green chillies, finely chopped – 100 gm
  6. Ginger, finely chopped – 50 gm
  7. Garlic, finely chopped – 50 gm
  8. Pickle powder – as needed
  9. Oil – as required
  10. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

How to prepare Yam – Dates Pickle?

  1. Clean the yams and chop them into fine pieces. Soak it in water for a little time, adding a little turmeric powder.
  2. Remove the seeds of dates and immerse them in vinegar.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds.
  4. Sauté the yams until they turn brown.
  5. Then add ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté again.
  6. When it’s done, add sufficient pickle powder, stir well and turn the flame off.
  7. Pour the vinegar-dates mixture into the mixer and make a fine paste.
  8. Add this paste to the already prepared pickle mixture and stir it well. Add vinegar if needed.
  9. Add sufficient salt also. Your yam-dates pickle is ready to serve.
