Onion Oil
– This onion hair oil helps to prevent hair fall, promotes hair growth, and delays premature greying.
To prepare this:
- Heat half a cup of coconut oil.
- Add half a cup of finely ground onion to the oil.
- Cook the mixture until the onion turns light brown.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once done, turn off the stove and let it cool completely.
- Strain the oil and store it in an airtight bottle for future use.
Rosemary Oil
– Rosemary helps promote hair growth and thickness. You can easily prepare rosemary oil at home.
To prepare this:
- Pour one cup of coconut oil into a microwave-safe glass bowl.
- Add half a cup of rosemary to the oil.
- Boil water in a separate pan and place the glass bowl over it to use the double heating method.
- Once the rosemary aroma rises, remove the bowl from the heat.
- Strain the oil and store it for use.
Fenugreek Oil
– Fenugreek is highly beneficial for hair growth and scalp health. Regular use of fenugreek water for hair washing or applying a fenugreek paste made by soaking it in rice water can effectively improve hair health.
To prepare fenugreek oil:
- Heat half a cup of coconut oil.
- Once heated, remove it from the stove and add one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds.
- Allow the oil to cool down.
- Strain the oil and store it for use.
This oil is also effective in reducing dandruff.
Aloe Vera Oil
– Aloe vera is highly effective for scalp health and hair growth. Besides hair care, it also plays a vital role in maintaining healthy skin.
To prepare aloe vera oil:
- Cut the aloe vera leaf and wash it thoroughly. Let it hang for 15 minutes to drain the yellowish resin.
- Remove the thorns, chop the aloe vera into small pieces, and blend it into a paste.
- Mix one cup of aloe vera paste with one cup of coconut oil.
- Heat this mixture on low flame, stirring continuously.
- Once the aloe vera content thickens and rolls up, remove from the heat and strain the oil.
Your aloe vera oil is now ready for use.
5 More hair oils to stimulate hair growth
Oils can play a significant role in the proper caring and maintenance of hair. Oils set free hair from tangles, gives hair extra shine and softness, strengthens hair roots and stimulates hair growth as well. 1. Take a handful of curry leaves, hibiscus leaves and hibiscus petals and boil well in coconut oil. Oil taken should be 4 times the amount of all these leaves and flowers combined. You can use this hair oil on daily basis before regular bath.
2. Basil leaves (thulasi) can be boiled in coconut oil equivalent to four times. Your hair will grow thick. Basil leaves also have the power to get rid of lice. You can also boil false daisy leaves (kaithonni) the same way to prepare hair oil.
3. Soak 100 gm almonds in water and grind well. Now boil it in half litre coconut oil. It helps in hair growth and also prevents hair fall.
4. Take Curry leaves, false daisy leaves (kaithonni) and brahmi (water hyssop) 50 gm each. Boil them together in 1 litre coconut milk and filter it once cooled. Apply on hair before bath.
5. Extract the juice of hibiscus flower, aloe Vera, false daisy leaves (kaithonni) and shallots 50 ml each. Then boil it in 200 milli coconut oil, along with 5 gm black cumin and 5 gm pepper. This hair oil is a quick remedy for hair fall.
