Dates Payasam recipe
 

Ingredients for Dates Payasam:

  1. Dates – 200 gm
  2. Jaggery – 400 gm
  3. Coconut milk – 1 coconut
  4. Cashew nuts – 10
  5. Ghee – as needed

How to prepare Dates Payasam?

  1. Remove seeds from dates and add water. Cook it well.
  2. Then grind it well using a mixer.
  3. Heat jaggery and strain its impurities and keep aside.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan (uruli) and fry cashew nuts.
  5. Take them out, and in the remaining ghee, add dates and jaggery. Sauté it well.
  6. Add the second milk to it and cook well. When it’s almost dry,  turn off the flame.
  7. Add the first milk and stir well. Add coconut milk as well.
  8. Serve hot.
