Curd Chicken (Thayiru Kozhi)
Ingredients for Curd Chicken (Thayiru Kozhi):
1. Chicken – 500 gram
2. Thick curd – 1 cup
Salt – For taste
Cumin powder – One small spoon
Turmeric powder – Half small spoon
Chilli powder – Half small spoon
Kashmiri chilli powder – One small spoon
Ginger-garlic paste – Two big spoons
Pepper powder – Half small spoon
3. Oil – One big spoon
4. Cloves – 4
Bay leaf – 1
Green cardamom – 2
Cinnamon – 1-inch piece
5. Onions – 2, chopped small
6. Salt and Pepper powder – As needed
7. Green chilli – 1, crushed
Kasuri methi – One small spoon, fried and powdered
8. Chopped coriander leaves – 1 big spoon
How to prepare Curd Chicken (Thayiru Kozhi)?
1. Clean chicken and cut into small pieces.
2. Mix ingredients no: 2 and marinate chicken pieces. Allow it to rest for half an hour.
3. Heat a thick bottom to pan and add oil. Fry ingredients number 4.
4. Add onions and saute until it turns golden brown.
5. Take the pan from stove and add marinated chicken pieces to it. Mix it well.
6. Close it with a lid and place it back in the stove.
7. Cook chicken for 20 minutes in low flame. Check occasionally and stir the contents if needed.
8. When chicken is well cooked and gravy thickens, a thin layer of oil forms on the surface.
9. Add Salt and Pepper if needed, and mix well.
10. Add ingredients no: 7 to it, stir well and cook for 1 minute.
11. Put off the flame and add coriander leaves.
