Chempoove Poove Song from Kaalapani – Lyrics in English with Translation

Chempoove poove

Niramaarathe chendel

Oru vandundo…. (M)

Hey red flower… flower,

In the bouquet of your filled bosom,

Is there is a bee?

Chentherum chundil

Chudu muthaaram muthaan

Oru muthunde…..(F)

In the saffron lips

To give a hot kiss

There is a pearl

Chiri chilambulanju

Chamayangalazhinju…oh…(M)

Anklets of smiles swayed

Getup slipped off(M)

Kalathila kalathil

Nila vilakkananju…oh… (F)

The lamp of floor blown out

Mizhikondu mizhikalil

Uzhiyumoo…oh…(M)

Will you rub eyes with eyes?

Nanayumen nerukayil

Narumanam thookamoo… (F)

Can you apply fresh perfume

In my drenching forehead?

Chempoove poove

Niramaarathe chendel

Oru vandundo…. (M)

Hey red flower… flower,

In the bouquet of your filled bosom,

Is there is a bee?

Chentherum chundil

Chudu muthaaram muthaan

Oru muthunde…..(F)

In the saffron lips

To give a hot kiss

There is a pearl

Anthichoppu maayum maanathaaro

Maarivillin thongal thookkum

Ninte chella kaathil

Kunji kammalennonam (M)

In the sky where evening red fades

Someone is hanging fringes of rainbow

Like small earring in your lovely ears

Thanka thinkal nulli pottum thottu

Vennilaavil kannum nattu

Ninne njaane vaakachottil

Kaathirikkunnu… (F)

Pinching the golden moon & putting as bindi(spot)

Fixing eyes in moonlight

I am waiting for you

Beneath this gulmohar tree

Then kiniyum thennalaay

Ninnarike vannu njaan

Kaathiloru manthramaay

Kaakalikal moolavee(M)

As a breeze oozing honey

I came near you.

As a mantra,

While humming in your ears,

Naanam konden nenjil

Thaazham poovo thulli(F)

In shyness pine flowers of my heart danced

Aarum kelkkathullil

Maadapraavo konji(M)

A dove cooed inside,

Without letting anyone listen

Aalolam kili muthe vaa

Athira raavilorambhiliyaay(F)

Come, dear bird

Like a moon at *Athira night

Chempoove poove

Niramaarathe chendel

Oru vandundo…. (M)

Hey red flower… flower,

In the bouquet of your filled bosom,

Is there is a bee?

Chentherum chundil

Chudu muthaaram muthaan

Oru muthunde…..(F)

In the saffron lips

To give a hot kiss

There is a pearl

Alli thaamarappo cheppil thatti

Thaarakathin thumpum nulli

Thaanirangum poonthen thumpi

Maari ninnaatte (F)

The dragonfly coming down,

Pinching in the box of lotus,

And pinching the tip of stars,

You stay aside

Ennum ninteyullil thulli thoovum

Kunju velli kinnathil nee

Kaachi vaikkum chella paimpaal

Njan kudichotte (M)

In the small silver bowl inside you,

Which spills everyday,

The milk which you boil

Shall I drink?

Peelimudi aadumee

Neelamayil kaankiloo

What if…

The dancing blue peacock see it?

Mele mukil chaayave

Neramirulaakiloo… (F)

While clouds going to sleep up in sky,

Is it getting dark?

Naadan kannipenne

Naanikkathen ponne(M)

Hey village unmarried girl,

Don’t feel shy, dear

Thaazhekkavil naale

Veeli thaalam vende (F)

In the sacred mangroves below,

Don’t you need wedding plate tomorrow?

Paayaram kali chollathe

Punchiri pothiyaam chinchilamaay(M)

Without telling jokes,

To wrap smiles in beauty

Chentherum chundil

Chudu muthaaram muthaan

Oru muthunde….. (F)

In the saffron lips

To give a hot kiss

There is a pearl

Chempoove poove

Niramaarathe chendel

Oru vandundo…. (M)

Hey red flower… flower,

In the bouquet of your filled bosom,

Is there is a bee?

Chentherum chundil

Chudu muthaaram muthaan

Oru muthunde…..(F)

In the saffron lips

To give a hot kiss

There is a pearl
