Avantika Sundar is a young actress associated with South Indian Cinema. She is the daughter of Tamil actor-director Sundar. C and his actress-politician wife, Khushboo Sunder. She marks her big screen debut with the Malayalam film Aarambham, directed by Sujesh Annie Eapen.

Avantika Sundar is based in Chennai and was born into a family with strong political and film connections. Born as the elder daughter of Sundar. C and Khushboo Sunder, initially, she was not keen on taking acting as a profession. She has a younger sister, Anantika. As suggested by her maternal grandmother, who stays with them in Chennai, she pursued Culinary Arts in London.

She holds a degree in Culinary Arts

As a teenager, she was overweighed and she assumed that her features didn’t suit a film heroine. Also, she felt that her height of 5’9’’ was a shortcoming. But during the COVID pandemic, she made up her mind to join the film industry. Interestingly, despite being a nepokid, she didn’t want to enter films through their home production, Avini Cinemax. Avantika didn’t want to stay as the shadow of her parents. Instead, she wanted to work hard and try from her side to pursue her acting dreams.

Though she received many film offers, as she was too choosy about her film launch, her film debut got delayed.

Emergency surgery at the age of 18

Avantika Sundar was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 18, and she underwent an emergency surgery. As a result, she lost significant weight. Yet through proper diet and exercise, she maintains the required weight and fitness. She is a foodie too.   

She loves tattooing, and she has a lot of tattoos made on her body.

Aarambham marks her screen debut

She has been interested in Malayalam films since childhood and used to watch them. It was actress Saritha who recommended her name for the film, Aarambham. Saritha plays her mom in the film. Though she is familiar with the Malayalam language (her paternal grandmother is a Malayali), Malayalam dialogues were not easy for her during the shooting of the film.
