She played lead role in her next release, Manoharam (2019), followed by her Tamil debut through Vijay starrer Beast (2022) and Malayalam release, Priyan Ottathilanu (2022). All these films mostly received favourable reviews from critics.

From an accountant to a film star

Aparna Das was born in 1994 to Malayali parents settled in Muscat. Nenmara of Palakkad is her hometown. She has two brothers. Till 7th standard she studied in Gangotri English Medium school, before moving to Muscat. She completed BBA and started her professional career as an accountant at Accounts and Logistics Company, as she was more interested in earning a secure job and money. Though she completed MBA, after 3 years of her career as accountant, she started feeling, 4-9 job is not her destination.

She already had buried her dreams to become an actress. Those acting dreams bloomed again and before getting too late, she started sending her profile to different production houses.

Marked her debut through Sathyan Anthikad film

She played a small role of an unnamed girl who wishes to marry Bahuleyan, Prakashan’s Friend in Njan Prakashan. The role of Bahuleyan was played by Aneesh G Menon. Though the role was small, she got a magic entry into the world of acting. She was selected for the role after she sent a video of auditions.

She got chance to work in second film, Manoharam through Sathyan Anthikad’s son, Akhil who sent her pics to film’s director, Anvar Sadik. She played lead role opposite Vineeth Srinivasan, and film also received favourable reviews.

Her big break to Tamil movies through ‘Beast’

When she got entry to Tamil through ‘Beast’, it was only her third film. During covid pandemic she had a break from cinema. To her surprise, she got a supporting role in Vijay starrer, Beast. She played Aparna, the Home Minister’s daughter who is an IPS trainee. Her original name was used for the film character. Thus she marked her Tamil debut through a film produced by a big production house. As she studied graduation in Coimbatore, it helped her to communicate with the director in Tamil.
