The Cozy Cocoon

Interior trends are shifting from cool minimalism to cozy cocooning. Warm neutral shades like beige, grey, brown, and chestnut pink are incorporated into the cozy cocoon style. Currently, beige and brown are in high demand. These colors help create an earthy look for rooms.

Soft Carpets

If you thought high-pile and woollen carpets were outdated, think again. High-pile carpets can provide an elegant, warm look to rooms. Runner carpets can help maintain the beauty of the flooring. These are ideal for hallways and stair areas.

Patterns for Gatherings

Retro, stripes, floral – you can choose any pattern as needed. These patterns can be used in gathering areas, halls, small rooms, and children’s bedrooms.

Eco-friendly Mats

Eco-friendly mats are now gaining popularity. Mats made from bamboo, rubber, jute, coir and polypropylene are not only stylish but also beneficial for the environment.

Use Mats in Essential Areas

In areas prone to slipping, such as the kitchen and bathroom, placing door mats is essential. This ensures cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. A clean mat keeps the room tidy — just make sure to clean it regularly. Dust it off frequently and wash it as needed.

For bathroom entrances, choose mats that absorb moisture effectively. Opt for mats at least half an inch thick for better grip and functionality. Polypropylene or fabric mats are ideal as they are easy to clean and absorb water quickly.

While Choosing a Mat

1. Ensure you select mats with a good grip.

2. Opt for machine-washable mats for easy cleaning.

3. For verandas, choose rubber, coir, or other rough-textured foam mats.

4. Mats that are damp, dirty due to aging, or unclean can ruin the interior’s appeal and cause unpleasant odours. If they cannot be cleaned properly, replace them with new mats at regular intervals.

5. In homes with pets, clean mats regularly using a vacuum cleaner or lint roller.

6. Placing a mat beside the bed helps keep the bed area clean.
