Taher Shabbir – Hindi film and television actor of ‘Nisha Aur Uske Cousins’ fame

Taher Shabbir Mithaiwala, shortly called Taher Shabbir is a Hindi actor who appears in TV soaps and also plays character roles onscreen. His lead character as dapper prince, Viraj Singh Rathore for the television series, “Nisha Aur Uske Cousins” shot him to instant fame. He marked his film debut with Shah Rukh starrer Fan in 2016, and later played memorable roles in Naam Shabana and Manikarnika. He played Taapsee Pannu’s boyfriend in Naam Shabana while he played Sangram Singh in Manikarnika.    

Taher Shabbir was born in 1985. His father is a sweet shop owner and his mother is a doctor. A model turned actor, he has also worked as an associate and assistant director during his initial days. He marked his acting debut with TV shows in 2014 after acting bug bit him during the film shooting of Agneepath, where he was an assistant. He took training in acting for two years before he joined Television industry in 2014.

He was one of the lead characters aside Aneri Vajani and Mishkat Varma in his debut series, Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. The show became extremely popular in which he played an inspirational character. In 2018 he played Arshad Habib, Zoya’s suitor in the show, Bepannah. He debut as a film producer in 2017 with the animated film, Hanuman: Da’ Damdaar.

1. The actor had to quit his debut show when TRP ratings of the show didn’t improve. But his role in this show is said to be inspiration to many.

2. He is also a singer and a good photographer too.

3. He has worked as an assistant director for Sudhir Mishra’s Khoya Khoya Chand, Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and several advertisements.

4. He has worked as an assistant director in the movies starring Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

5. While sharing space with Shah Rukh Khan for his debut flick, he has seen the star earlier at the age of 6 during the film shooting of Ram Jaane in 1995. He has also directed SRK in a music video.

6. The actor reveals that his stint with television has helped him a lot to get away the fear to face camera, and also to share screen space with SRK for his debut flick.

7. His role as Taapsee Pannu’s boyfriend in Naam Shabana got noticed. The melodious song ‘Rozana’ featuring both was also a chartbuster.

8. For his acting roles he uses the name Taher Shabbir. For his role as an assistant director and producer he uses his family surname, Taher Mithaiwala.
