Kerala traditional Ada is usually made with rice flour and a sweet or savoury filling. Very often, maida and wheat are also used as alternatives. Try this wheat-based Wheat Ada for a healthy twist.

Ingredients for Wheat Ada (Gothamb Ada):
- Wheat flour – 250 gm
Coconut scraped – 4 small spoons
Jaggery scraped – 3 big spoons
Salt – A pinch - Jaggery – 100 gm, scraped
Coconut scraped – 6 big spoons
Cardamom – 4, crushed
Ghee – 4 small spoons - Banana leaves – As required
How to prepare Wheat Ada (Gothamb Ada)?
- Mix ingredients no: 1 together in a bowl and prepare the batter.
- Mix ingredients no: 2 separately in another bowl to prepare the filling.
- Tear banana leaves into small bits.
- Spread a little batter in each leaf bit, and place filling on its top.
- Fold the banana leaves, and steam cook for 10 minutes.
- Serve hot.
