Sweet Potato Cutlet is a flavorful and wholesome snack made from mashed sweet potatoes blended with roasted semolina, bread crumbs, fresh coriander leaves and a few more ingredients, and shaped into cutlets. They are deep- fried until golden and crispy. This delicious and easy-to-make cutlet is perfect for tea time as an evening snack. As sweet potatoes are richer in certain vitamins and antioxidants than regular potatoes, they become a superfood staple in many diets worldwide.

Sweet Potato Cutlet

Ingredients for Sweet Potato Cutlet:

  1. Sweet potato boiled and smashed – 2 cups
  2. Roasted rava – ½ cup
  3. Onions chopped fine – 1
  4. Ginger chopped fine – 1 tablespoon
  5. Green chillies – 2, chopped
  6. Coriander leaves – 1 stem
  7. Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  8. Salt – A pinch
  9. Egg – 1
  10. Bread crumbs – As required

How to prepare Sweet Potato Cutlet?

  1. Add fried semolina, onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, and salt to the smashed sweet potato.
  2. Shape the mixture into cutlets.
  3. Dip each cutlet in beaten egg and coat well with bread crumbs.
  4. Heat the oil and deep-fry the cutlets until they turn golden brown.
  5. Flip both sides of the cutlets to make them crispy.
  6. Serve hot with a cup of tea.
