Prawns Potato Bonda

Ingredients for Prawns Potato Bonda:

1. Prawns – 250g

2. Oil / Coconut oil – 2 tbsp

3. Shallots (chopped) – 2 tbsp

   Curry leaves – 1 sprig

4. Onion – 1 small, thinly sliced

5. Garlic – 5 cloves

    Ginger – a small piece

    Coriander powder – 2 tsp

    Chilli powder – 2 tsp

    Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

    Meat masala powder – 1 tsp

    Black pepper powder – ½ tsp

6. Salt – to taste

7. Kudampuli (soaked Malabar tamarind) – 2 pieces

8. Potatoes (boiled and mashed) – 2

    Onion (finely chopped) – 1 small

   Green chilli (finely chopped) – 1

9. Egg (beaten) – 1

10. Bread crumbs – as needed

11.Oil – as needed for frying

How to prepare Prawns Potato Bonda?

1. Clean the prawns by removing the shell and veins.

2. Heat oil in a pan, fry shallots and curry leaves, then set aside.

3. In the same oil, sauté onions, then add the ground mixture from the fifth ingredient along with salt and fry well.

4. Add the prawns and soaked Malabar tamarind, cook well, then reduce the gravy until dry.

5. Remove the Malabar tamarind pieces.

6. Mix in the fried shallots and curry leaves. This is the filling.

7. Mash the eighth ingredient using a fork. Do not make it a paste; small chunks should remain.

8. Roll this mixture into small balls, make a small indentation in the center, fill with a little of the prepared filling, and roll again.

9. Dip these in beaten egg, coat with bread crumbs, and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
