Pappada Vada
Ingredients for Pappada Vada:
1. Pappadam (Pappad) – 8
2. Rice flour – 1 cup
Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon
Sesame seeds – ½ small spoon
Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Asafoetida powder – A pinch (optional)
Salt and water – As required
3. Cooking oil – For frying
How to prepare Pappada Vada?
1. Place pappad under direct sunlight for a while and dry it well.
2. Heat a tawa and heat the pappad in very low flame to remove the moisture content and fry a little.
3. Take a bowl and mix together ingredients no: 2 to prepare the batter. The batter should stick on to the spoon.
4. Dip each pappad in this batter and fry in hot oil.
5. Flip both sides and they should be golden brown in colour.
6. Place them in a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
7. Once they cool, preserve them in air-tight containers for future use.
