Papaya Masala Thoran

Ingredients for Papaya Masala Thoran:

1. Green papaya cut into small square pieces – 3 cups

2. Coconut oil – For preparation

3. Scrapped coconut after removing milk (Thengaa Kothu) – ½ cup

   Shallots cut lengthwise – 1.5 cups

4. Red chillies powder -2 big spoons

    Coriander powder – 1 small spoon

    Garam masala powder – 2 small spoons

5. Scrapped coconut – 1.5 cups

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

6. Salt – As required

7. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Red chillies – cut into two halves, 2

    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

Papaya Masala Thoran – Method of preparation

1. Steam cook papaya adding salt and a little turmeric powder.

2. Crush for thoran ingredients no: 5.

3. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 3.

4. Add ingredients no: 4, mix well and then crushed coconut & turmeric powder gravy.

5. Sauté the contents well.

6. When water content is absorbed completely spread cooked papaya on the top.

7. Using a spatula make a heap of the contents, close it with a lid and allow it to steam cook for one minute.

8. Heat a little oil in a pan, sauté ingredients no: 7, add to your Papaya Masala Thoran.

9. Mix the ingredients well and put off the flame.
