Oushada Panakam can be used for medicinal purposes too. It helps to balance Vatha-Kafa doshams. Panakam can also reduce the effects of cold and fever.

Panakam

Ingredients for Oushada Panakam:

1. Water – One cup

2. Holy basil leaves – 10

    Ginger – One small piece, crushed

    Cardamom powder – A pinch

    Pepper powder – Two pinches

3. Powdered jaggery/Honey – Two tablespoons

How to prepare Oushada Panakam?

1. Add the ingredients listed under section 2 to the water and boil well.

2. Add jaggery and let it dissolve.

3. Strain the mixture and drink warm.

3. If you have preferred to add honey to the drink, mix it only after it cools down slightly. Honey can never be boiled or heated too much.
