Natural Hair Colour Treatment – Colour your hair naturally

Everyone wants to hide his age. If grey hair is darkened by using any product he looks at least 10 year old less. We get hundreds of such products in markets too, adding to our confusions. To fight grey hair we need to know the type of our skin and the total visibility of grey hair. If we choose natural methods, side effects are low. Before you procedure, go through 10 Hair colouring tips as well.

Natural Colour Hair Treatment

Latest trend is Natural Colour Hair Treatment. It’s available in two packets. First packet is applied and washed off after one hour. When hair is fully dried you can apply the second one. Again wait for one more hour and wash the hair. It takes almost 2.5 hours for the treatment.

It has other advantages too. Natural colour hair treatment can be used by persons who have undergone other treatments like straightening. Then once in every month, you need to touch the new grown hair only. You can use shampoo twice a week and natural colour hair treatment never causes skin allergy.

Henna can be used as conditioner

Henna is widely appreciated among users as a good hair conditioner. If grey hair has just started attacking you, henna can resist it up to some extent. Also it hides the grey hair smartly. Henna makes your hair dry. So never forget to do oil massage after henna treatment. Otherwise apply hair serum. If it’s normal hair, hot oil massage before henna makes treatment more effective. Henna is available in red and orange shades too. But henna is not normally done in treated hair.

Henna is widely tagged as the best and natural hair colouring agent, and if prepared at home, it gives good results. You need not fear allergy issues too. Only disadvantage is natural black colour cannot be attained through henna. It gives a slight brown or grey colour to your hair. Hair should be dried and combed well before the application of henna. You can wash your hair using some natural shampoo after one hour.

Hair colour shampoo

It can be applied in the same way we use regular shampoo. Wash it off after 15 minutes. Mix it with the mixture given along with the shampoo before applying on the hair. Never forget to wear gloves during this process.

Powder based hair colour

The product is available in market long time ago and still popular among users. The powder is added to water and mixed well before applying on hair. Though it’s cheap and has less intensity odour, its stain stays in the skin for long days.

Cream based hair colour

Instructions will be given on the bottle. Mix the colour with liquid solution in desired proportion and apply on your hair. Like henna, use a brush to apply it on your hair. Avoid skin contact as much as possible.

These packets need 15 – 45 minutes for drying. Instant packets that need just 5 minutes only are also available in the market.

Dye your hair safely

Hair dyes are of different types – temporary, semi-permanent and permanent. After three shampoo washes, temporary dyes are washed off completely. Semi-permanent dyes retain their colour for 5-10 shampoo washes. But permanent dyes are not easy to wash off with shampoo. Dyes are available as powders, gel and liquids. Gel and liquid dyes are easy to use, and follow the instructions while using them.

Comb your hair well and apply some cream in the scalp. Use gloves while applying dye on hair and wash off your hands using soap soon after the process. Never use excess quantity of dye or mix 2 or 3 types of dyes for use. It’s advisable not to dye eye brows and eye lids. Never dye your hair in case your scalp has some wounds.

The process should be carried out in a room with good air circulation. Otherwise choose a room with exhaust fan. It takes up to half an hour for dyes to show their ‘true colours’. After that wash your hair using the shampoo (got as combo with dye packet) or any other shampoo. Never allow kids to enter the area. Dyes with chemical components on regular use may cause diseases in future, and hence natural methods should be tried first.

A small portion of hair dyes are absorbed by blood and later excreted through urine. So avoid dyeing while you are pregnant or breast feeding your baby. To remove dye from your skin, dip cotton in milk and then wash it off using soap. You can also remove dye if shampoo is mixed with lukewarm water and gently rub in those areas.

Chances for allergies. Take note of these few things

When you dye your hair for the first time, you should definitely conduct allergy test. Take a small amount from the prepared dye and apply on the area behind ears or inner area of palm. Wait for next 48 hours to see if skin has turned reddish or gives itching or swells. If anyone of these conditions is noticed, then you have dye allergy. A particular ingredient common in all dyes might be the allergy causing agent. So, in most cases, if you try with another product, you may end up with same results. If you have allergy to dyes, it’s better to avoid them.

If you are an asthma patient, you need to take extra care while colouring your hair. Swelling in body parts, itching, breath issues, chest pain etc are some of the common symptoms in this case. Consult a doctor soon. Henna is the safest method of hair colouring and natural treatment too, and free of all allergies.
