Rava Unniyappam (Semolina Unniyappam)

Ingredients for Rava Unniyappam (Semolina Unniyappam):

1. Semolina – 1 cup

    Rice flour – ½ cup

    Butter – 1 small spoon

2. Milk – As required

3. Palayankodan banana smashed – ¼ cup

    Jaggery scrapped – ¼ cup

4. Oil – For frying

How to prepare Rava Unniyappam (Semolina Unniyappam)?

1. Mix semolina and rice flour, and add butter.

2. Using fingers, mix the contents well.

3. Add sufficient water to it, followed by smashed banana and jaggery and mix well.

4. Allow the batter to rest for at least half an hour.

5. Pour oil in unniyappam maker and pour batter in moulds using a spoon.

6. Fry both sides in medium flame, and remove excess oil using a tissue paper.

Note: You can add a little cardamom powder if you please, and also cashews, sesame seeds and fried coconut pieces to enhance the taste.
