Naveen Nazim – Malayalam budding actor of ‘Ambili’ fame

Naveen Nazim is an upcoming and promising young actor belonging to Malayalam cinema. He made his screen debut with 2019 heart-warming emotional film, Ambili, where he portrayed a National level cyclist and Soubin Shahir’s best buddy, and received positive reviews from critics. Naveen Nazim is the brother of well-known south Indian film actress, Nazriya Nazim and brother-in-law of popular actor Fahadh Faasil.

Naveen Nazim hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and was born into a Muslim family. Following his sister’s footsteps, who started her acting career as a child artist, Naveen too joined films. Yet he never pursued a career in films, and acting role came just by a chance which he accepted. Thus he got a meaty role in Johnpaul George’s second film after Guppy. Though he has watched the movie and has been impressed by the director, he never imagined that he is to play a very important/second lead role in his next movie.  

Naveen feels that he can relate very much to his character – Bobby, a cycling champion in the movie, and that’s one reason why he readily accepted it. It was Soubin who asked him if he can accept the role. As he didn’t have any acting experience earlier, it was not an easy process to get into the skin of the role. He faced difficulties and had plenty of doubts during the initial days of shooting. He was nervous too. However with the help of a supporting team and crew, acting became a learning process to Naveen Nazim and he delivered his best in this role.

1. As he is the brother of Nazriya Nazim, he is related to famous film director Fazil and actor Farhaan Fazil.

2. He could have easily made an easy launch by a movie produced by his sister or brother-in-law. But he always wanted to start his film career with some other filmmaker or banner, and he managed to make a mark in the industry with his debut role.

3. His character Bobby, an adventure junkie in the movie Ambili has his own space, aims and ambitions, and a person who performs his duties perfectly. He could easily relate this character to him, and that’s why he accepted the role.

4. He feels that acting field is not so easy, and has a lot of things to learn.
