Mathi Thilappichath (Sardine Boiled)

Ingredients for Mathi Thilappichath (Sardine Boiled):

1. Sardine (Mathi) – ½ kg

2. Shallots chopped – 150 gm

    Green chillies chopped – 10

    Ginger chopped – 1 piece

    Curry leaves chopped – 1 spring

3. Pot tamarind – 1 clove

4. Coconut – ½

5. Vinegar – 2 table spoons

6. Oil – 2 table spoons

How to prepare Mathi Thilappichath (Sardine Boiled)?

1. Clean fish and keep aside.

2. Extract first, second and third milk from coconut.

3. Mix second and third milk together.

4. Heat oil in an earthen pot and sauté ingredients no: 2.

5. Boil with second milk (and third milk) combined.

6. Add fish and pot tamarind, and cook till it’s done.

7. Add first extract of coconut milk and put off the flame.

8. Add vinegar and serve.
