Bellamkonda Suresh – Telugu film producer and distributor

Bellamkonda Suresh is a Telugu film producer and distributor from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He has produced many Telugu films. As a  film producer and distributor, Rakshasudu released in 2019 gave him financial benefits. The movie starred his son Bellamkonda Sreenivas in a lead role. In fact he launched Srinivas through the movie, Alludu Seenu in 2014 which fared well at box office. He owns home production company – Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions, and both his sons are associated with it. He also produces Tamil films.

Bellamkonda Suresh hails from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He was born in 1965. He is now settled with his family at Hyderabad with his wife Bellamkonda Padmavathi and two sons. He is active in film industry since year 2000. Maa Anannyya was his first movie, followed by Aadi in 2002. As a film producer, he is known for the movies – Ganga, Kanchana 2, Rakshasudu, Lakshmi Narasimha, Naa Autograph, Alludu Seenu, Colimaar, Bhale Dongalu etc. He owns a mix up of hit and flop films, which include a few with his son Bellamkonda Sreenivas in a lead role. After delivering three flops in a row, Bellamkonda Sreenivas registered his first authentic hit through Rakshasudu, financed by his father.

Jabardasth movie controversy

In 2019 August, an arrest warrant was issued against him for failing to make the repayment of Rs 3.5 crore to a Telugu entertainment channel. In 2013 he produced Jabardasth, an unofficial remake of Bollywood movie of Yash Raj Films, ‘Band Baaja Baarat’. Suresh had successfully sold the satellite rights of ‘Jabardasth’ for Rs 3.5 Crore before Yash Raj Films filed plagiarism case. When the TV channel couldn’t air the film because of it, it asked the producer to repay Rs 11.75 crore to the channel, which includes interest rates. When he failed to repay the amount, he was sentenced to jail by the High court of Delhi.

Bellamkonda Suresh – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. His sons – Bellamkonda Sreenivas is a promising young actor and producer associated with Tollywood, while Bellamkonda Ganesh Babu is also a film producer.

2. In 2019 he had to face arrest when he couldn’t repay Rs 11.75 crore to the channel, following a court case related to plagiarism. It’s exactly the same year when the thriller film Rakshasudu earned him benefits as film distributor.

3. In 2004 actor Nandamuri Balakrishna shot the producer and his associate at his residence at Hyderabad and both were rushed to Apollo hospital. Later the actor was allowed to stay in at a hospital on the pretext of some vague physical injury, which led to controversies. Balakrishna got arrested later.

4. He usually keeps away himself away from media, and talk to it only if he has something important to address.

5. He has been nominated at IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Film – Tamil.
