10+ Tips to dry your clothes in beauty and style

Sunday is a washing day for us all. Though it’s easy with the help of a washing machine, real problem is drying. If it’s a rainy season, it adds extra head ache to house wife. Hanging clothes in bed rooms and stair case takes away the beauty of your interior. It’s possible to arrange suitable areas in our home if put a little effort in the designing phase itself. Let me provide a few such ideas.

1. During designing stage itself you should have a clear idea about where to hang wet clothes. For working ladies, space near kitchen is the best for placing washing machine and hanging clothes. But if you can find a little more time, set your laundry space in terrace. Make suitable arrangements to place washing machine in terrace itself. Tress work can also be done.

2. If you are buying a new flat it’s possible to buy an open terrace. Price is fixed according to square feet area and you can place your laundry room there.

3. If tress work is done for terrace you can dry your clothes there. But choose the rear end, away from front view to hang clothes.

4. If you are drying clothes in your courtyard, backside is the best. If that area is not spacious fix metal strings to connect the walls – the outside wall and wall of your home. That area will not be easily visible from front end. If you use glass or polycarbonate roofs, there will be no tensions during rainy season. Also, your clothes won’t fade easily under direct sunlight.

5. Balcony is a best place for flat dwelling people. Design balconies in such a way that they are not fully open, yet allow enough sunlight and air.

6. Place AC compressor in your balcony so that it hides your cloth drying area as well as gives warm air to dry your clothes easily.

7. Metal strings fixed permanent are best than plastic threads, for hanging clothes.

8. If your tress is fully open, birds may fly inside damaging your clothes. You can provide net walls, if so.

9. If you are planning to provide cloth-drying area inside home, work area or utility room is the best place. Design your hanger in such way that you can alter its height as you desire.

10. Inbuilt hangers can also be constructed that can be used only when needed. Such hangers are best for rainy season.

11. Cloth stands that can be folded after use are also available in market. They are made of wood, stainless steel, plastic etc and they are most useful for those who live in congested flats.

12. If you have a balcony at rear end, fix a cloth drying stand permanently. Place those stands that can afford maximum clothes in minimum area. You can design your own stands or buy readymade stands from outside.
