Masala Kanji (Masala Rice Porridge)

Ingredients for Masala Kanji (Masala Rice Porridge):

1.Raw rice (Pachari) – ¾ cup

   Salt and water – As required

2. Oil – 2 big spoons

3. Cinnamon – 1 piece

    Cloves – 2

4. Shallots cut into pieces – 2 big spoons

    Carrot cut into pieces – 2 big spoons

    Beans cut into pieces – 1 big spoon

    Garam masala powder – 1 pinch

    Bengal gram daal – 1 big spoon

5. Coconut scrapped – 1 cup

    Shallots – 4

    Cumin seeds – 1 small spoon

6. Ghee – 2 big spoons

How to prepare Masala Kanji (Masala Rice Porridge)?

1. Wash rice and cook it adding sufficient water and salt.

2. Heat oil and sauté ingredients no: 3.

3. Then add ingredients no: 4 and sauté again.

4. Add this mixture to the almost cooked boiling kanji and boil well.

5. Add a little water to ingredients no: 5 and extract thick coconut juice.

6. Add this coconut milk to Masala Kanji, mix well and heat it. (Never boil)

7. Add ghee, mix well and put the flame off.
