Trivia: Chattakari (Bold girl) was based on soft porn book of same name, a bestseller written by Pamman, most popular writer in this genre. It was later remade to Hindi as Julie. Evergreen ‘Dil Kya Kare’ is the Hindi version of this song. Unlike film version, lovers don’t unite in the original book. Lakshmi won Filmfare best actress award for both Hindi & Malayalam. Though she got a major break in Hindi films, she returned only back in 2004 through Priyadarshan’s Hulchul, reprising the role of stubborn grandmother, character played by Philomena in the original Malayalam version, Godfather (1991) – Longest running film of Mollywood.

Chattakari was the second movie of Lakshmi in Malayalam & Julie, her debut movie in Hindi. She married her Malayalam co-star Mohan Sharma 1 year after film release, & got separated after 5 years. It was her 2nd marriage. Later she married for 3rd time to actor Sivachandran in 1987.
