ila ada or Kumbil Ada

Ingredients for Kumbil Ada:

  1. Wheat flour – 200 gm
    Jaggery scraped – 150 gm
    Coconut scraped – ½ cup
    Cardamom powder – 1 small spoon
    Cumin powder – ¼ small spoon
    Ghee – 2 small spoons
    Salt – A pinch
  2. Bay leaf (Vayana Ila) or banana leaf – As required

How to prepare Kumbil Ada?

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and prepare the batter.
  2. Take bay leaf (Vayana Ila) or banana leaf and prepare cone shapes with a tail (Kumbil shapes).
  3. Take a ball of batter and place it inside the cone-shaped structures.
  4. Fold the tail portion to completely wrap the batter and give it a perfect triangle shape (as shown in the figure).
  5. Steam cook the adas in a steamer for 15 minutes.
