Kappa Non-Veg Cutlet, also known as Tapioca Non-Veg Cutlet, is a popular Kerala snack made using boiled and mashed tapioca & minced meat of your choice, lightly spiced and shaped into cutlets before being fried to a golden crisp. This simple snack is perfect for evening tea time or as a party appetizer.

Kappa Non Veg Cutlet recipe

Ingredients for Kappa Non-Veg Cutlet (Tapioca Non-Veg Cutlet):

  1. Boiled and mashed tapioca – 2 cups
    Cooked mutton/chicken pieces taken from curry – ½ cup
    Thick curry gravy of mutton/chicken – 2 tsp
    Bread with edges removed, soaked in water and squeezed – ¼ cup 
  2. Coriander leaves, Mint leaves – Finely chopped, as required
    Egg yolk – 1
    Salt – As required 
  3. Breadcrumbs – As required 
    Egg white – 1
    Oil – As needed for frying 

How to prepare Kappa Non-Veg Cutlet (Tapioca Non-Veg Cutlet)?

  1. Mix the first set of ingredients thoroughly and set aside. 
  2. Add the second set of ingredients and mix well without lumps. 
  3. Shape the mixture into small cutlets or sausages, dip in beaten egg white, coat with breadcrumbs, and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
