Ingredients for Kaaya Puzhungiyath:
- Raw plantain – 3
- Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – 1 small spoon
Salt – As needed - Thick fish pieces – ¼ kg
- Grated coconut – ½ portion
Fennel – 1 small spoon
Garlic – 3 cloves, chopped - Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
How to prepare Kaaya Puzhungiyath?
- Cut the raw plantains lengthwise into two and then slice them thinly. Wash and drain well.
- Add the ingredients listed under section 2, along with enough water, and cook.
- When it is half-cooked, add the fish pieces and cook well.
- Grind the ingredients listed under section 4 into a fine paste and add to the mixture. Stir well.
- When it starts to boil, add curry leaves and cook until the gravy thickens to the desired consistency.
