Fara Shibla is an upcoming actress from Malayalam cinema who marks her screen debut with O.P.160/18 Kakshi: Amminippilla in 2019. The most interesting part is that she gained 20 kilos to make her fit for the role, similar to a plus-size heroine in Dum Laga Ke Haisa. Bhumi Pednekar gained weight for her debut film and stole the audience’s hearts. Fara Shibla hails from Malappuram, Kerala. In 2011, she was one of the finalists of a reality show on television, after which she got offers to anchor shows. As the new profession was interesting, she dropped a course and shifted from Bangalore to Kerala to continue with anchoring. She also started attending auditions and got a brief role in Cinema Company. She met Vijit soon she married very soon and continued with her anchoring job. After delivering a child, she lost her body shape, and was in her attempt of restoring old figure when she got the lead role for Kakshi: Amminippilla. Interestingly, she was asked to put on a few more pounds.

For Shibla, it was not easy to gain weight. Yet she succeeded in her efforts. She even stopped her workouts and Zumba classes, and started working on her diction in the Thalassery dialect used for the film. After one month, when she sent her video to the director, he was impressed. She continued with her efforts, including eating a lot, and turned 85 kgs. In an era of body-shaming, her role as Kanthi Sivadasan perfectly fits the bill.
