 Ingredients -1

  1. Black gram (after black skin removed) (Uzhunnu paripp) – 100 gm
  2. Coriander – 50 gm
  3. Chillies – 50 gm
  4. Horse gram (muthira) – 25 gm
  5. Asafetida – 10 gm
  6. Curry leaves – 2 sprigs

Ingredients – 2

  1. Coconut grated – 2
  2. Tamarind – 50 gm
  3. Jaggery – 50 gm
  4. Salt – as needed

How to prepare Chammanthi Podi?

  1. Fry all ingredients together grouped under category 1. Then grind it without adding water.
  2. Fry the coconut without adding oil.
  3. Crush all the ingredients together using a stone mortar. Avoid the mixer to get a traditional taste.
