About the composer Vinu Thomas
Vinu Thomas may not be a very familiar name to most Malayalis, but he has given Malayalam cinema an evergreen romantic song – Arikil Pathiye. The song became one of the most viewed Malayalam tracks of 2016 and went on to become a chartbuster. Not many people know that Vinu Thomas was also the composer of the songs in Mohanlal’s Drishyam (2013). He later composed music for the Mohanlal starrer Drama (2018) and the Asif Ali film Kavi Uddheshichathu..? (2016). Yet, I often wonder where this talented composer has gone and why he is not getting more opportunities in Malayalam cinema, especially at a time when the industry is going through such a creative and successful phase.
