Anagha. L. K alias Anagha Maruthora – South Indian film actress of ‘Natpe Thunai’ fame

Anagha. L. K, also known as Anagha Maruthora is a south Indian film actress who hails from Kannur, Kerala. Marked her screen debut in a supporting role with Malayalam hit film, Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu in 2017, she later worked in Tamil and Telugu films too. In fact she marked her Tamil and Telugu debut in 2019 with Natpe Thunai and Guna 369 respectively and she played lead roles in both these films. She also played supporting roles in Malayalam movies, Parava and Rosapoo, before moving to other language films.

An engineer turned actress

Anagha hails from Kannur, Kerala and was born in 1992. Both her parents are teachers. Initially she didn’t want to join film industry. Acting bug bit her while she was doing her engineering studies at College of Engineering, Chenganoor. Later she completed M. tech in Electronics and design technology from NIELIT College, Kozhikode. She quit her job as an engineer to pursue acting.

After playing supporting roles in three Malayalam movies in a row with limited success, she moved to Telugu and Tamil film industry in 2019. Within a short span of three years, she appeared in 5 movies belonging to three different languages, and she has already signed her second Tamil project, Dikkilona.

Anagha – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She wished to work in corporate sector, and never had acting plans till her engineering days.

2. She was paired with Kartikeya Gummakonda of ‘RX 100’ fame for her debut Telugu flick, Guna 369, and it was based on true events.

3. Fashion designing and dancing are her hobbies.

4. Kamal Hassan and Manju Warrier are her favourite actors.

5. She played a hockey player in her Tamil debut film, Natpe Thunai, and received favourable reviews. She attended workshops in Chennai before doing the role. She trained hockey for 2 hours every day for 40 long days.
