Meen Vattichath

Ingredients for Meen Vattichath:

1. Sardines – 1 kg cleaned

2. Coconut oil – 50 grams

3. Fenugreek seeds – 1 small spoon 

4. Ginger – 100 grams, chopped

    Green chilli – 25 grams, chopped

    Garlic – 100 grams, chopped

    Curry leaves – 2 stem

5. Kashmiri chilli powder – 50 grams 

    Turmeric powder – 1 small spoon

    Salt – As required

6. Water – Half cup

7. Pot tamarind – 20 grams

8. Mustard – 1 small spoon

How to prepare Meen Vattichath?

1. Clean fish and cut into small pieces.

2. Heat coconut oil in an earthen pot and sputter fenugreek seeds.

3. Saute ingredients number 4 and add ingredients number 5.

4. Add water and pot tamarind, & allow the contents to boil.

5. Add fish after sometime and cook it till it is done.

6. Sputter mustard seeds in coconut oil and add to fish.
