Yam – Cowpeas Dry Fry (Chena – Vanpayar Ularth)
Ingredients for Yam – Cowpeas Dry Fry (Chena – Vanpayar Ularth):
1. Yam chopped into small pieces – 1 cup
Vanpayar (Cowpeas) – ½ cup
2. Red chillies – 4
Shallots – 10
Garlic – 4 cloves
Curry leaves – 2 stems
3. Oil – 1.5 table spoons
Mustard – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – A little
How to prepare Yam – Cowpeas Dry Fry (Chena – Vanpayar Ularth)?
1. Cook ingredients no: 1 together. Water content should be fully absorbed.
2. Crush ingredients no: 2 together.
3. Heat oil and pour oil. Sputter mustard seeds.
4. Add the crushed ingredients and sauté for a while.
5. Add cooked ingredients no: 1, salt and curry leaves.
6. Keep sauting till your Yam Ularth turns almost dry.
