Ullivada 2

Ingredients for Ullivada (Onion Vada):

1. Onions – 2, sliced thin

    Green chillies – 2, chopped

    Ginger – ½ inch piece, chopped

    Chilli powder – 1 small spoon

    Gram flour – 1 cup

    Rice flour – 3 big spoons

    Curry leaves chopped fine – 1 small spoon

    Salt – For taste

2. Oil – For frying

How to prepare Ullivada (Onion Vada)?

1. Mix together ingredients no: 1.

2. Add a little water to prepare thick batter for ullivada.

3. Heat oil in a pan.

4. Pour batter little by little using your hands.

5. Fry both sides till golden brown.

6. Drain off excess oil.

Ingredients for Ullivada (Recipe 2):

1. Onions – 3, sliced thin lengthwise

    Green chillies – 4, chopped round & thin

    Ginger – 1 piece, chopped fine

    Salt – For taste

    Asafoetida powder – A pinch

    Baking soda – A pinch

2. Gram flour – 1 cup

3. Oil – For frying

How to prepare Ullivada (Recipe 2)?

1. Mix ingredients no: 1 together in a bowl.

2. Add gram flour and mix well using hands.

3. Allow the batter to rest for a while. No need to add excess water.

4. Heat oil in a pan and put batter little by little into it.

5. Fry till your ullivada turns golden brown and onions are well fried.
