Tomato Paappu
Ingredients for Tomato Paappu:
1. Toor daal (Pigeon pea) – ½ cup
2. Onions – 1, chopped fine
Green chillies – 2, chopped fine
Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Salt – For taste
3. Ghee – 1 big spoon
4. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Red chillies – 2
5. Curry leaves – 2 stalks
Ginger – 1-inch piece, chopped
Garlic – 3 cloves, chopped
6. Tomato – 2 small, chopped
How to prepare Tomato Paappu?
1. Cook toor daal along with one tomato and ingredients no: 2 in a pressure cooker.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and sputter mustard and red chillies.
3. Add ingredients no: 5 and remaining tomatoes and sauté again.
4. When the flavour changes to pleasant aroma, pour it to the cooked dal.
