Simple Sponge Cake recipe

Ingredients for Simple Sponge Cake:

1. Maida – 275 gm

2. Butter – 225 gm

    Milk – 4 big spoons

    Baking powder – 1.5 small spoons

    Sugar powdered – 225 gm

    Salt – A pinch

    Vanilla essence – 3 drops

3. Egg – 4

4. Icing sugar – 225 gm

    Water – 2 big spoons

5. Gems candies – To decorate

6. Butter made soft – 75 gm

7. Icing sugar – 175 gm

    Vanilla essence – 1 small spoon

How to prepare Simple Sponge Cake?

1. Grease a baking tray using butter and place a butter paper.

2. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degree celsious.

3. Blend maida and take it in a big bowl.

4. Add ingredients no: 2 to it and mix well.

5. Add beaten eggs to it and mix well.

6. Transfer the contents to the baking tray and bake it in the oven for 40-45 minutes.

7. When it is well-cooked, it bounces like a spring when touched.

8. To prepare icing for the cake, first blend the icing sugar in a bowl.

9. Then add a little water and mix well.

10. Add and mix water till sugar solution sticks to the back side of the spoon.

11. Pour the icing sugar as a layer on the top of the sponge cake and decorate with gems.

12. Allow your sponge cake to set and then serve.

Note: You can also substitute normal icing with butter icing. Take a bowl, add butter, and mix them well until the contents turn soft. Add blended icing sugar to it and vanilla essence and mix the ingredients well. Use this mixture for topping.
