Ramesh Varma – Telugu filmmaker and screenwriter of ‘Rakshasudu’ fame
Ramesh Varma is a film director, producer, and screenwriter from Telugu cinema. He started his film journey as a poster designer in 1998, and also worked as a publicity designer for several Telugu films and Bollywood, before he forayed into film direction through Oka Oorilo in 2005. As a film director he is best known for his 2019 hit film, Rakshasudu, remake of Tamil psychological thriller, Ratsasan. His movies – Ride and Veera have been mass entertainers, and registered box office hits. Oka Oorilo and Abbayitho Ammayi have been dud at box office.
Ramesh Varma hails from Bhimavaram, West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. After completing graduation in 1998, he began his career as publicity designer. In fact his father is also a designer at Eenadu Colorama, Ramoji Film City. In 1998 he designed the poster of Preminchukundam Raa under the name, “Kiran Poster Ads”. He also worked as a publicity designer before marking his debut as a film director in 2005. He produced Jaffa and 7, and wrote the script and story of Mallepuvvu and 7.

2. His film Veera (2011) starring Ravi Teja and Kajal Aggarwal completed 50 days in 60 centres and was a big hit.
3. He rarely produces the movies, in which he wears director’s cap.
