Rajma Ozhichu Curry (Kidney Beans Curry)

Ingredients for Rajma Ozhichu Curry (Kidney Beans Curry):

1. Rajma (Kidney beans) – ¾ cup

2. Onion – 1, chopped fine

    Tomato – 2, chopped fine

    Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon

    Sambar powder – 2 small spoons

    Salt – For taste

    Tamarind – Gooseberry sized, squeezed adding sufficient water

3. Coconut – ½ of small sized, scrapped

    Cumin seeds – ¾ small spoon

4. Asafoetida powder – ½ small spoon

5. Curry leaves – 2 stems

6. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon

7. Mustard – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Rajma Ozhichu Curry (Kidney Beans Curry)?

1. Soak rajma in water for 10 hours.

2. Wash it well and cook in pressure cooker.

3. Add ingredients no: 2 to it and cook again.

4. Make a fine paste of coconut and cumin seeds and add to it.

5. Boil the contents well.

6. Add curry leaves and asafoetida powder and boil again.

7. Sputter mustard seeds in hot oil and add to rajma curry.
