
Ingredients for Puttu Upmaavu (Steam Cake Upma):
1. Oil – 1 big spoon
2. Mustard – Half a small spoon
Red chillies – 2, broken
Urud dal – Half a small spoon
3. Onion – 1 small, cut into square pieces
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
4. Leftover steam cake – Two cups
5. Salt – As needed
6. Water – 5 big spoons
How to prepare Puttu Upmaavu (Steam Cake Upma)?
1. Heat oil in a pan and fry ingredients 2.
2. Add onions and curry leaves and saute until the raw smell goes out.
3. Smash the steam cake and add it.
4. Sprinkle some water and stir the contents well.
5. Add sufficient salt and allow to cook for a few more minutes.
6. Turn off the flame.
7. You can serve it with scrambled eggs, chicken or any vegetable curry of your choice.
