Pritam Kagne – Film and stage actress of ‘Ajab Lagnachi Gajab Goshta’ fame

Pritam Kagne is an Indian actress who appears in Marathi, Bollywood and South Indian films. She is also a stage actress. Kagne made her debut in acting with unsuccessful Malayalam Film Mr Bean and later acted in Bollywood film 31st October. She has been a part of many language films with limited success, and later moved to Marathi theatre. Her debut performance in Ajab Lagnachi Gajab Goshta earned her best actress award.

Pritam Kagne hails from Pune, Maharashtra. She made her Malayalam screen debut through 2013 comedy film, Mr. Bean where she played one of the three female leads. Before that she has worked in Marathi theatre and one Marathi film – Bokad. She played lead in Halaal, which was screened at many international film festivals. The film was produced by her brother Amol Kagne. She played lead roles in movies – Mr. Bean, Navra Majha Bhovra, Rangel, Halaal, Sangharshyatra, Mile Jab Chora Chori etc and supporting roles in Bajaar, Bokad, Aata Majhi Hatli etc.

Pritam Kagne – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She dabbled with dance, theatre and anchoring before joining films.

2. She is an audiologist and speech therapist by profession, who later pursued acting.

3. Before joining films she worked at Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune as an assistant audiologist and speech therapist.

4. Her brother Amol Kagne is a Marathi film producer who owns Amol Kagne Films.

5. She is a recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award – Best Promising Actress.
