Peechinga – Paripp Ularth (Ridge Gourd – Dal Ularth)

Ingredients for Peechinga – Paripp Ularth (Ridge Gourd – Dal Ularth):

1. Sambar daal (Pigeon pea) – ½ cup

2. Oil – 2 big spoons

3. Mustard – ½ small spoon

4. Shallots – ½ cup

    Garlic – 1 full

    Red chillies – 5

5. Turmeric powder – 1 small spoon

    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

6. Ridge gourd cut into small pieces – 2 cups

7. Salt – For taste

How to prepare Peechinga – Paripp Ularth (Ridge Gourd – Dal Ularth)?

1. Half cook dal adding water and drain off excess water.

2. Heat a pan and sputter mustard seeds.

3. Crush ingredients no: 4 and add to pan along with ingredients no: 5.

4. Sauté the contents.

5. Add ridge gourd pieces, half-cooked dal and salt and fry well.

6. Cook till water content is fully absorbed to prepare ularth.
