Jackfruit Kheer recipe

Ingredients for Chakkapazham Kheer (Jackfruit Kheer):

1. Jaggery – ½ cup

    Water – ½ cup

2. Jackfruit – 1 cup

3. Cardamom – 3, powdered adding 2 spoon sugar

4. Steam cake powder (Puttu powder) – 3 small spoons

5. Thin coconut milk – 1 cup

    Water – ½ cup

6. Thick coconut milk – 1 cup

7. Ghee – 1 big spoon

8. Cashews and almonds sliced – A little

How to prepare Chakkapazham Kheer (Jackfruit Kheer)?

1. Melt jaggery adding water, and then boil it.

2. Remove seeds from jackfruit and cut into small pieces.

3. Heat a thick-bottomed pan or urli and add ingredients 4 and 5.

4. Reduce to low flame and keep stirring.

5. When rice flour is cooked well, add sliced jackfruit and cook well.

6. When it turns soft, add cardamom powder and mix well.

7. Add melted jaggery and boil the contents for a few minutes.

8. Add thick coconut milk and cook in a low flame for a few more minutes.

9. Put off the flame.

10. Fry almonds and cashews in ghee and add to kheer.

11. Serve this jackfruit kheer hot or chilled.
